Rutef was founded in early 2022 with two simple carts and a single goal: build the finest custom golf carts in America.
How it started
There was a time when the future felt uncertain. A family business, once steady, had been slowly overtaken by the big-box stores of the world. With a family to provide for and options running thin, a chance conversation about selling used golf carts in Myrtle Beach sparked an idea. So we drove from Florida to South Carolina, returned with two carts, and started selling them from a garage.
In the beginning, every part of the business was hands-on. Batteries were swapped in the Florida heat, accessories were installed one by one, and every phone call, delivery, and detail was handled personally. Customers would pull up to the house to buy a cart because there was no storefront yet. When the neighborhood took notice, a few storage units kept the dream alive. Six months later, a small showroom opened. Then a larger one. Then another.
Where we are now
Today, Rutef is one of America's fastest-growing custom golf cart dealers. What began with two carts in a garage has grown into a dedicated team, hundreds of vehicles in inventory at any given time, and a fleet of trucks and trailers delivering and servicing carts across the country every day.
Since 2022, we have had the privilege of serving thousands of customers. No matter how far we grow, we still operate with the same mindset as those early garage days: treat every customer like our very first, pay attention to every detail, and never cut corners on quality.
